At Chipmind, we believe the key question facing the semiconductor industry is no longer if AI will change things, but how the very role of the hardware engineer will evolve. AI agents are actively transforming chip design step by step—moving the industry forward from abstract specs to verified silicon.

To dive into this evolution, Chipmind’s Co-Founder and CTO, Sandro Belfanti, recently headed to Austria to share our perspective on the future of automation and connect with fellow pioneers.

Here is what Sandro had to say about the experience:

🎙️ Sandro’s Takeaway: Between Ambition and Reality

"Last week I had the pleasure to speak at the Infineon Technologies School 2025 'One prompt, one chip' in Villach.

In my talk, 'The Chip Design Agent Engineer of the Future – Between Ambition and Reality,' I shared our perspective on how AI is reshaping chip design, what already works, what still doesn’t, and the skills tomorrow’s engineers will need.

Afterward, I joined an expert panel for a lively discussion. It was great discussing the massive impact and long-term future of AI—and a huge thank you to Sergii Tkachov for the skillful moderation. I greatly enjoyed spending the day exchanging ideas, learning from others, and contributing to this interesting summer school.

Thanks to Infineon Technologies  Austria for organizing an event with such high-quality presentations, diverse subjects, and interesting speakers.

At Chipmind, we see this kind of dialogue as essential: bridging AI and semiconductors is not just a trend—it’s the foundation of the next generation of chip design."

At Chipmind, we don't just view the intersection of machine learning and hardware as a passing industry trend. For the Chipmind team, bridging advanced AI architecture with complex EDA environments is the literal foundation of next-generation chip design.

As we continue training our autonomous agents to navigate existing design constraints at human-level quality (but machine speed), open dialogue with industry pillars like Infineon keeps our compass pointed exactly where it needs to be. The horizon of automated engineering is arriving fast, and we're thrilled to be leading the charge.
